R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the
  passing of Gloria Helfman-Nasissi on August 23, 2016, at the age of
  89; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Brooklyn, New York, on June 24, 1927,
  Ms. Helfman-Nasissi lived most of her life in New York City, but she
  eventually moved to Atlanta, then later to Houston, to be closer to
  her cherished grandchildren, who were her pride and joy; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Helfman-Nasissi had the pleasure of sharing
  many precious memories over the years with her beloved family; at
  the time of her passing, she was survived by her five children,
  Janice Zimmer, Lenore Sotelo, Leah Melamed, Joyce Helfman, and
  David Helfman, her 10 grandchildren, Dennis Fedechko, Nicole
  Lettiere, Maayan, Daniel, and Arielle Melamed, Jamie, Hannah, and
  Abigail Klein, and Ethan and Ronnie Helfman, as well as six
  great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Although she will be deeply missed, Gloria
  Helfman-Nasissi left an indelible impression on all those who were
  fortunate enough to know her, and she will hold a treasured place in
  their hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Gloria
  Helfman-Nasissi and extend sincere condolences to her relatives and
  many friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Gloria
  Helfman-Nasissi.
