R E S O L U T I O N

|
|
WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the |
|
|
passing of Gloria Helfman-Nasissi on August 23, 2016, at the age of |
|
|
89; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Born in Brooklyn, New York, on June 24, 1927, |
|
|
Ms. Helfman-Nasissi lived most of her life in New York City, but she |
|
|
eventually moved to Atlanta, then later to Houston, to be closer to |
|
|
her cherished grandchildren, who were her pride and joy; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Helfman-Nasissi had the pleasure of sharing |
|
|
many precious memories over the years with her beloved family; at |
|
|
the time of her passing, she was survived by her five children, |
|
|
Janice Zimmer, Lenore Sotelo, Leah Melamed, Joyce Helfman, and |
|
|
David Helfman, her 10 grandchildren, Dennis Fedechko, Nicole |
|
|
Lettiere, Maayan, Daniel, and Arielle Melamed, Jamie, Hannah, and |
|
|
Abigail Klein, and Ethan and Ronnie Helfman, as well as six |
|
|
great-grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Although she will be deeply missed, Gloria |
|
|
Helfman-Nasissi left an indelible impression on all those who were |
|
|
fortunate enough to know her, and she will hold a treasured place in |
|
|
their hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Gloria |
|
|
Helfman-Nasissi and extend sincere condolences to her relatives and |
|
|
many friends; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Gloria |
|
|
Helfman-Nasissi. |
