R E S O L U T I O N

|
|
WHEREAS, An Argentine delegation sponsored by the American |
|
|
Council of Young Political Leaders is visiting the State Capitol |
|
|
the week of February 12, 2017, and this occasion provides a fitting |
|
|
opportunity to honor the council for its efforts to promote |
|
|
understanding among the world's future policy makers; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A nonprofit educational exchange organization, |
|
|
ACYPL conducts a number of programs designed to acquaint |
|
|
participants with the politics, history, culture, governance, and |
|
|
policy making of countries around the world; the aim is to help |
|
|
next-generation leaders develop a more informed perspective on |
|
|
other societies and on issues of regional or global importance; |
|
|
since its inception in 1966, ACYPL has conducted exchanges in more |
|
|
than 120 countries, and today it boasts some 8,000 alumni |
|
|
worldwide; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Argentine delegation that is visiting Texas is |
|
|
composed of Manuel Godoy, a lawyer in the office of the secretary of |
|
|
state of Salta province; the Honorable Rodrigo López Molina, a |
|
|
provincial representative in the Santa Fe Chamber of Deputies; |
|
|
Camilo Vaca Narvaja, a parliamentary adviser to National Chamber of |
|
|
Deputies member Remo Carlotto; Gisela Yanina Ortiz, counseling |
|
|
coordinator for the president of the NCD Foreign Affairs and |
|
|
Religious Committee; Federico Pellegrini, an economist at the Bank |
|
|
of the Province of Buenos Aires; the Honorable Vanesa Zuccari, a |
|
|
provincial representative in the Buenos Aires Chamber of Deputies; |
|
|
and Nicolás Iermoli, the private secretary for the director of the |
|
|
Institute of Parliamentary Training; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, ACYPL is dedicated to fostering respectful, |
|
|
informed, and constructive dialogue concerning the challenges of |
|
|
our day, and it is indeed a pleasure to welcome members of the next |
|
|
generation of political leaders to the Lone Star State; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend the American Council of Young Political |
|
|
Leaders for its commitment to advancing international cooperation |
|
|
and understanding and extend to the delegation from Argentina |
|
|
sincere best wishes for an enjoyable and memorable visit; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared |
|
|
for the Argentine delegation as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
