R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Lubbock has greatly benefited from the committed |
|
leadership of the Honorable Glen Robertson, who served two terms as |
|
the city's mayor; and |
|
WHEREAS, First elected on May 12, 2012, Mayor Robertson |
|
dedicated himself to promoting Lubbock as a business-friendly |
|
community, working to strengthen relationships between the city and |
|
companies and industries both within the region and throughout the |
|
United States; his efforts were rewarded with steady job creation |
|
and economic growth in the area; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mayor Robertson made the improvement of the city's |
|
utilities and infrastructure one of his priorities, and he |
|
staunchly supported the decision by Lubbock Power & Light to seek |
|
membership in the Electric Reliability Council of Texas; he also |
|
strongly advocated for the realization of the Texas Loop 88 project |
|
in order to continue meeting the city's growing traffic needs; and |
|
WHEREAS, Each day, public servants improve the quality of |
|
life for their fellow citizens in innumerable ways, and the efforts |
|
of Glen Robertson have helped to make Lubbock an even better place |
|
in which to live and work; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commend the Honorable Glen Robertson for his |
|
exemplary public service and extend to him sincere best wishes for |
|
the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mayor Robertson as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
