R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Lubbock has greatly benefited from the committed
  leadership of the Honorable Glen Robertson, who served two terms as
  the city's mayor; and
         WHEREAS, First elected on May 12, 2012, Mayor Robertson
  dedicated himself to promoting Lubbock as a business-friendly
  community, working to strengthen relationships between the city and
  companies and industries both within the region and throughout the
  United States; his efforts were rewarded with steady job creation
  and economic growth in the area; and
         WHEREAS, Mayor Robertson made the improvement of the city's
  utilities and infrastructure one of his priorities, and he
  staunchly supported the decision by Lubbock Power & Light to seek
  membership in the Electric Reliability Council of Texas; he also
  strongly advocated for the realization of the Texas Loop 88 project
  in order to continue meeting the city's growing traffic needs; and
         WHEREAS, Each day, public servants improve the quality of
  life for their fellow citizens in innumerable ways, and the efforts
  of Glen Robertson have helped to make Lubbock an even better place
  in which to live and work; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend the Honorable Glen Robertson for his
  exemplary public service and extend to him sincere best wishes for
  the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mayor Robertson as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
