R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Rosie Collin is being presented with an Outstanding
  Community Leader Award by LULAC Council No. 1 in Corpus Christi at
  the organization's 21st annual awards banquet on February 16, 2017;
  and
         WHEREAS, A fitting recipient of this notable honor,
  Ms. Collin is the director of community relations for the Port of
  Corpus Christi Authority; she previously served as a public affairs
  and community relations coordinator with CITGO, president and CEO
  of the Corpus Christi Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and executive
  director of the Ingleside Local Redevelopment Authority; and
         WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan also enjoyed a successful career
  in education that spanned three decades before she retired from Foy
  H. Moody High School; she holds a bachelor's degree from Southwest
  Texas State University and a master's degree from Corpus Christi
  State University; and
         WHEREAS, The strength of our communities is enhanced by the
  devoted efforts of individuals such as Rosie Collin, whose tireless
  work has contributed immeasurably to the quality of life in the
  Corpus Christi area and beyond; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Rosie Collin on her receipt of an
  Outstanding Community Leader Award from LULAC Council No. 1 and
  extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Collin as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
