R E S O L U T I O N

|
|
WHEREAS, Members of the Fort Bend Leadership Forum are |
|
|
visiting the State Capitol February 22 and 23, 2017, to gain further |
|
|
insight into the workings of state government; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Organized in 1987 by the Fort Bend Chamber of |
|
|
Commerce, this outstanding program fosters community stewardship |
|
|
and volunteerism; participants include individuals from the areas |
|
|
of business, labor, religion, government, and civic and nonprofit |
|
|
associations who take advantage of creative learning opportunities |
|
|
to hone their leadership skills and develop a deeper understanding |
|
|
of how things work in their county; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Training sessions focus on such subjects as criminal |
|
|
justice, diversity, health and social services, infrastructure and |
|
|
economic development, municipal and county government, and state |
|
|
and national government; facilitators emphasize the importance of |
|
|
teamwork and collaboration and highlight the opportunities and |
|
|
challenges facing the Fort Bend area; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through its efforts to foster a more informed and |
|
|
engaged citizenry, the Fort Bend Leadership Forum is helping to |
|
|
build a bright and promising future for the county and the Lone Star |
|
|
State; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby recognize February 22 and 23, 2017, as Fort Bend |
|
|
Chamber Leadership Forum Days at the State Capitol and extend to the |
|
|
visiting delegation sincere best wishes for an informative and |
|
|
enjoyable stay in Austin. |
