R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Colton Engle of Boy Scouts of America Troop No. 181 |
|
in Lumberton has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and this |
|
accomplishment truly merits special recognition; and |
|
WHEREAS, The Eagle Scout badge is a significant honor |
|
bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the scouting |
|
movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding criteria, |
|
Mr. Engle earned the requisite 21 merit badges and successfully |
|
completed an Eagle Scout project of benefit to his community; and |
|
WHEREAS, This fine young Texan has demonstrated outstanding |
|
leadership ability throughout his scouting career, winning the |
|
respect and admiration of his fellow troop members as he worked |
|
toward the highest rank that the organization offers; and |
|
WHEREAS, A senior at Lumberton High School, Mr. Engle has |
|
further distinguished himself by playing tuba in the school band, |
|
serving as senior class president, and participating in choir, |
|
theater, and the National Honor Society; after graduation, he plans |
|
to serve with the U.S. Coast Guard before pursuing a career as a |
|
history professor; and |
|
WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Engle's dedication to excellence and his |
|
perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven him worthy to |
|
stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with pride |
|
on a job well done; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Colton Engle on achieving this |
|
prestigious rank and extend to him sincere best wishes for |
|
continued success and happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Engle as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
