R E S O L U T I O N

|
|
WHEREAS, The Pflugerville Independent School District has |
|
|
been named to the seventh annual AP District Honor Roll by the |
|
|
College Board; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Inclusion on this honor roll is based on an |
|
|
examination of AP data covering the period from 2014 through 2016; |
|
|
to qualify for this distinction, a district must have increased |
|
|
advanced placement course access for underrepresented students |
|
|
while also maintaining or improving the percentage of students |
|
|
earning AP exam scores of three or higher; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ably guided by superintendent Dr. Alex Torrez, |
|
|
Pflugerville ISD was one of just 22 public school districts in Texas |
|
|
to earn this honor in 2016 and one of only two school districts in |
|
|
Central Texas to make the AP District Honor Roll in both 2015 and |
|
|
2016; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This prestigious national recognition is a |
|
|
testament to the hard work and dedication of the faculty, staff, and |
|
|
students of Pflugerville ISD, and they may indeed reflect with |
|
|
pride on this achievement as they work together to prepare for the |
|
|
challenges and opportunities of the future; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate the Pflugerville Independent |
|
|
School District on its selection to the seventh annual AP District |
|
|
Honor Roll and commend all those associated with the district for |
|
|
their dedicated efforts; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the district as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
