R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Members of the Texas Food & Fuel Association are |
|
|
visiting the State Capitol on February 21, 2017; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Founded in 1949, the Texas Food & Fuel Association |
|
|
is a nonprofit organization representing more than 700 companies in |
|
|
the wholesale and retail segments of the fuel marketing, |
|
|
convenience, and food industries; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The organization's member companies own, operate, |
|
|
and supply more than 12,000 convenience stores across the state, |
|
|
and they distribute approximately nine billion gallons of gasoline |
|
|
and diesel fuel each year, both to motorists and to commercial and |
|
|
industrial users; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Under the leadership of its current chair, Madalyne |
|
|
Lange, the association advocates on behalf of its members' |
|
|
interests and provides networking, educational, and professional |
|
|
development opportunities as well as resources to help stakeholders |
|
|
assess industry trends and market conditions; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since its inception, the Texas Food & Fuel |
|
|
Association has worked diligently to support the growth and |
|
|
development of a vital sector of the economy, and all those |
|
|
associated with the group may take pride in the contributions they |
|
|
make to the prosperity of the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor the members of the Texas Food & Fuel |
|
|
Association on the occasion of their visit to the State Capitol and |
|
|
extend to them sincere best wishes for an enjoyable and informative |
|
|
event; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the association as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
