R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, National Engineers Week is taking place February 19 |
|
|
to 25, 2017, and this occasion provides a welcome opportunity to |
|
|
recognize the engineering professionals of the Texas chapters of |
|
|
ASHRAE; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since 1951, "EWeek" has been set aside to celebrate |
|
|
the tremendous efforts of the men and women who work in the field of |
|
|
engineering and to promote the education of future leaders in this |
|
|
profession; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Founded in 1894, ASHRAE is an international |
|
|
engineering society that focuses on building systems, energy |
|
|
efficiency, indoor air quality, refrigeration, and sustainability; |
|
|
the organization was originally known as the American Society of |
|
|
Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers before |
|
|
adopting the current acronym as its official name in 2012 as a |
|
|
reflection of its global status; today, ASHRAE has more than 55,000 |
|
|
members, spread across 140 countries; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, By dedicating themselves to advancing technologies |
|
|
of benefit to all of human society, the members of the Alamo, |
|
|
Austin, Dallas, East Texas, Fort Worth, Houston, South Texas, and |
|
|
West Texas chapters of ASHRAE have made a lasting, positive |
|
|
difference in their communities and beyond, and it is indeed |
|
|
fitting to honor their contributions to the Lone Star State; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby recognize February 19 to 25, 2017, as National |
|
|
Engineers Week and extend sincere appreciation to the members of |
|
|
the eight Texas chapters of ASHRAE; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the organization as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
