R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Creative Corrections Education Foundation has
  helped provide an educational lifeline to many young people in the
  Beaumont-Port Arthur area who are considered at risk; and
         WHEREAS, CCEF grants scholarships to children of
  incarcerated or paroled parents or legal guardians and to students
  in financial hardship who wish to pursue higher education or
  vocational training; and
         WHEREAS, In June 2015, the foundation established the Right
  Path Program to assist the growing population of unemployed Golden
  Triangle residents in acquiring the skills, education, and other
  tools necessary for gaining meaningful employment; the initiative
  helps young adults, typically between the ages of 18 and 27, by
  providing financial aid for enrollment at the Lamar Institute of
  Technology, where they can earn an associate degree or trade
  certificate; and
         WHEREAS, In keeping with its motto, "Education Versus
  Incarceration," the Creative Corrections Education Foundation has
  worked to break the cycle of poverty that affects disadvantaged
  young people, and the organization is indeed deserving of special
  recognition for its significant efforts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend the Creative Corrections Education
  Foundation on its service to the people of Southeast Texas and
  extend to all those associated with the organization sincere best
  wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the foundation as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
