R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, A group of 60 students from the Lewisville |
|
|
Independent School District is visiting Austin on February 22, |
|
|
2017, to participate in Literacy Education Day at the State |
|
|
Capitol; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The young men and women from Lewisville ISD are |
|
|
joining students and teachers from across the state to promote the |
|
|
value of reading and writing curricula in kindergarten through 12th |
|
|
grade; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Literacy Education Day focuses attention on the |
|
|
essential role these studies play in a broad range of applications |
|
|
and emphasizes the important work that is carried out by the 50,000 |
|
|
Texas teachers who specialize in English language arts and reading; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through their involvement in this event, the |
|
|
students from the Lewisville school district are demonstrating |
|
|
their interest in the important educational issues facing the Lone |
|
|
Star State, and it is a pleasure to recognize them for their |
|
|
exemplary civic engagement; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend the students from the Lewisville |
|
|
Independent School District on their participation in the 2017 |
|
|
Literacy Education Day at the State Capitol and extend to them |
|
|
sincere best wishes for a memorable visit to Austin; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the group as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
