R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A group of 60 students from the Lewisville
  Independent School District is visiting Austin on February 22,
  2017, to participate in Literacy Education Day at the State
  Capitol; and
         WHEREAS, The young men and women from Lewisville ISD are
  joining students and teachers from across the state to promote the
  value of reading and writing curricula in kindergarten through 12th
  grade; and
         WHEREAS, Literacy Education Day focuses attention on the
  essential role these studies play in a broad range of applications
  and emphasizes the important work that is carried out by the 50,000
  Texas teachers who specialize in English language arts and reading;
  and
         WHEREAS, Through their involvement in this event, the
  students from the Lewisville school district are demonstrating
  their interest in the important educational issues facing the Lone
  Star State, and it is a pleasure to recognize them for their
  exemplary civic engagement; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend the students from the Lewisville
  Independent School District on their participation in the 2017
  Literacy Education Day at the State Capitol and extend to them
  sincere best wishes for a memorable visit to Austin; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the group as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
