R E S O L U T I O N

|
|
WHEREAS, Jordan Constante has been named a 2016 Corpus |
|
|
Christi Caller-Times/Citgo South Texas Distinguished Scholar in |
|
|
the performing and fine arts category; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Caller-Times/Citgo South Texas Distinguished |
|
|
Scholars program was established to reward local students who have |
|
|
demonstrated excellence in specific areas of achievement; since its |
|
|
inception in 1988, hundreds of young men and women have been |
|
|
selected for this prestigious honor, and each of the 2016 winners |
|
|
received a $1,000 scholarship to help fund their college studies; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of Richard Searcy and Veronica |
|
|
Constante, Jordan Constante has been a gifted artist since |
|
|
childhood; she is a senior at the Harold T. Branch Academy for |
|
|
Career and Technical Education, and her strong work ethic has |
|
|
helped her earn a 3.5 grade point average while completing |
|
|
dual-credit courses and holding a full-time job; after graduation, |
|
|
she plans to attend Texas A&M University--Corpus Christi before |
|
|
eventually enrolling in the Art Institute of San Antonio, a path |
|
|
that will help her realize her dreams of becoming an animator, |
|
|
illustrator, and art teacher; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has pursued her goals |
|
|
with tremendous dedication, and she may take great pride in all that |
|
|
she has accomplished as she looks ahead to a future bright with |
|
|
promise; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Jordan Constante on her selection |
|
|
as a 2016 Corpus Christi Caller-Times/Citgo South Texas |
|
|
Distinguished Scholar and extend to her sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Constante as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
