R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Dedicated philanthropists from across the state are |
|
gathering in Austin on March 15, 2017, to commemorate Texas Charity |
|
Advocates Day at the State Capitol; and |
|
WHEREAS, Devoted to the betterment of Texas charities, TCA |
|
was established in 2005 with 20 charter members; the organization |
|
has expanded significantly in the years since, providing a wide |
|
array of services and meeting the needs of diverse populations and |
|
communities throughout Texas; and |
|
WHEREAS, A powerful voice for its member organizations, TCA |
|
works to unite these groups under their shared mission to bring |
|
vital aid to the citizens of Texas; TCA has also helped raise funds |
|
through charitable bingo games and other efforts, and it continues |
|
to raise awareness among the public about the positive impact of |
|
charitable bingo, which is enjoyed by hundreds of thousands of |
|
Texans every year; and |
|
WHEREAS, Charitable bingo games in Texas generate revenue for |
|
over 1,000 organizations that provide important assistance to |
|
veterans, seniors, children, and communities across the state; |
|
these charities' services, which range from medical care, research, |
|
and job training to volunteer emergency and fire protection and |
|
animal rescue, address community needs that might otherwise go |
|
unmet without their support; and |
|
WHEREAS, Texas Charity Advocates has demonstrated an |
|
unwavering commitment to philanthropy, and in so doing, it has |
|
benefited countless individuals in the Lone Star State; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby recognize March 15, 2017, as Texas Charity |
|
Advocates Day at the State Capitol and extend to all those |
|
associated with TCA sincere best wishes for continued success with |
|
their commendable work; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Texas Charity Advocates as an expression of high |
|
regard by the Texas House of Representatives. |
