R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Lawrence and Melba Bowers celebrated their 70th |
|
|
wedding anniversary on February 1, 2017, and they may indeed |
|
|
reflect with joy on the rewarding relationship they have shared; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, On that memorable day in 1947, Lawrence Bowers and |
|
|
the former Melba Clark exchanged the vows of matrimony in |
|
|
Greenville, and over the course of their marriage, they have found |
|
|
in each other a loving life partner; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Bowers count among their blessings a |
|
|
caring family that includes their daughters, Patricia Bowers and |
|
|
Linda Fisseler and her husband, Dale, as well as their |
|
|
grandchildren, Jeff Parham, Ben Fisseler, and Stephanie Windhorst |
|
|
and her husband, Zach, and their great-grandchildren, Avery and |
|
|
Gage Windhorst, with whom they treasure spending many special |
|
|
occasions; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, For seven decades, Lawrence and Melba Bowers have |
|
|
brought to their marriage laughter, kindness, and devotion, and it |
|
|
is a pleasure to honor them for their enduring commitment; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Lawrence and Melba Bowers on their |
|
|
70th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the couple as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
