R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Trenton Sell of Boy Scouts of America Troop No. 9 in |
|
Lumberton has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and this |
|
accomplishment truly merits special recognition; and |
|
WHEREAS, The Eagle Scout badge is a significant honor, one |
|
bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the scouting |
|
movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding criteria, |
|
Mr. Sell earned the requisite 21 merit badges and successfully |
|
completed an Eagle Scout project of benefit to his community; and |
|
WHEREAS, This fine young Texan began his scouting career in |
|
2005 as a first grader, and he has demonstrated outstanding |
|
leadership ability throughout the years, winning the respect and |
|
admiration of his fellow troop members as he worked toward the |
|
highest rank that the organization offers; he has served as patrol |
|
leader, assistant patrol leader, historian, and librarian, and he |
|
has also earned the prestigious Arrow of Light badge; and |
|
WHEREAS, A senior at Lumberton High School, Mr. Sell is a |
|
trombonist in the Mighty Raider Band and a member of the boys' |
|
varsity cross country team; in addition, he participates in the |
|
youth group at the First Baptist Church of Loeb, and he has |
|
volunteered numerous hours in support of local church and community |
|
service groups; his future plans include joining the U.S. Marine |
|
Corps Reserve and earning a degree in criminal justice; and |
|
WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Sell's dedication to excellence and his |
|
perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven him worthy to |
|
stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with pride |
|
on a job well done; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Trenton Sell on achieving the rank |
|
of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued |
|
success; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Sell as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
