R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The passing of Marguerite Caruthers of El Paso on
  February 15, 2017, at the age of 65, has brought great sadness to
  the family and many friends of this vibrant and gracious woman; and
         WHEREAS, Marguerite Caruthers was born on March 25, 1951; an
  actress and a beloved member of the El Paso theater community, she
  performed in dozens of productions for the El Paso Playhouse over
  the past decade; along the way, her kindness, her sense of humor,
  and her enthusiasm for life made an impression on everyone she
  encountered; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Caruthers shared a rewarding marriage with her
  husband, the late Jud Caruthers, and she was the devoted mother of
  four children, Katherine, Brendan, Quinn, and Tessa; over the
  years, she was further blessed with two grandchildren, Bijou and
  Zahir, and she enjoyed a close and caring relationship with David
  Yenshaw; in addition, her life was enriched by her love of animals,
  and she deeply cherished her family pets, Jack, Kiley, Kitty, and
  Hyde; and
         WHEREAS, Although the loss of Marguerite Caruthers is keenly
  felt by countless people, they will forever treasure their memories
  of the laughter, warmth, and joy that she brought into their lives;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Marguerite
  Caruthers and extend heartfelt condolences to the members of her
  family: to her children, Katherine Lileck-Moreno, Brendan
  Caruthers, Quinn Judson Caruthers, and Tessa Caruthers; to her
  grandchildren, Bijou and Zahir Encinas; to her sister, Mary Louise
  Gibson; to her partner, David Yenshaw; and to all others who mourn
  her passing; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Marguerite
  Caruthers.
