R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Codwell Elementary in Houston is holding a |
|
|
groundbreaking ceremony on March 3, 2017, to commemorate the |
|
|
commencement of new renovations that will allow Codwell Elementary |
|
|
to reopen its doors to students; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This outstanding educational institution serves |
|
|
students from Pre-K through 5th grade; under the able leadership of |
|
|
principal Kristy Love, the school offers fine arts and physical |
|
|
development magnet programs and its mission is to inspire and |
|
|
deliver academic success to all students with high academic |
|
|
expectations and high behavioral expectations; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Codwell is one of the schools in the Houston |
|
|
Independent School District to undergo renovations; the addition |
|
|
will include updated classroom spaces, an upgraded library, a new |
|
|
kitchen, a bus drop off circle and a new entry with security |
|
|
vestibule. |
|
|
WHEREAS, The education of young Texans is of great importance |
|
|
to the future of our state, and with these vital renovations to |
|
|
their campus, the faculty and staff of Codwell Elementary will be |
|
|
better equipped to help students reach their full potential and |
|
|
become engaged and productive members of the community; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature, hereby commemorate the Codwell Elementary |
|
|
groundbreaking ceremony and extend to all those associated with the |
|
|
institution sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Codwell Elementary as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
