R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Brooke Riggins was honored with a 4-H Gold Star |
|
Award at the Young County 4-H Gold Star Banquet on July 30, 2016; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, First presented in 1933, the Gold Star Award was |
|
created to recognize the hard work of exemplary 4-H members; it is |
|
the highest county-level achievement prize conferred by 4-H; and |
|
WHEREAS, To be eligible for the Gold Star Award, members are |
|
required to belong to 4-H for a minimum of three years, to complete |
|
projects in three different areas of emphasis, and to participate |
|
in a variety of activities; and |
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of Johnny and Mitzi Riggins, Brooke |
|
Riggins is highly active in 4-H, serving on the Young County |
|
livestock judging team and as vice president of the 4-H County |
|
Council; she is a junior at Olney High School, where she has been |
|
involved with the student council, the National Honor Society, and |
|
varsity softball; and |
|
WHEREAS, Brooke Riggins has brought great credit to her 4-H |
|
club, and the knowledge, skills, and experience she has gained |
|
during her time in the organization will surely serve her well in |
|
the years ahead; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Brooke Riggins of Olney on her |
|
receipt of a 4-H Gold Star Award and extend to her sincere best |
|
wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Riggins as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
