R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The creation of Christus Good Shepherd Health System |
|
|
in February 2017 has opened new horizons for the provision of health |
|
|
care services in East Texas; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This new nonprofit organization is the result of a |
|
|
merger between Christus Health and the Gregg County-based Good |
|
|
Shepherd Health System; one of three Christus health systems in the |
|
|
region, Christus Good Shepherd encompasses a major medical center |
|
|
in Longview that is the largest employer in the city and a sister |
|
|
hospital in Marshall, as well as more than 30 clinics and other |
|
|
satellite facilities; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Health care is essential to the well-being of every |
|
|
man, woman, and child in the Lone Star State, and Christus Good |
|
|
Shepherd Health System promises to be an invaluable asset to the |
|
|
East Texas community; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commemorate the establishment of the Christus |
|
|
Good Shepherd Health System and extend to all those associated with |
|
|
the organization sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the system as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
