R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Michael Knowles of Fort Worth is retiring from the
  Audit Division of the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts on April
  28, 2017, drawing to a close a decade and a half of exemplary
  service; and
         WHEREAS, An alumnus of Bentley College, where he earned a
  bachelor's degree with honors in accounting, Mr. Knowles began his
  career with the state comptroller's office as an auditor in the
  Odessa field office; he subsequently worked for two years at the
  revenue processing center in Euless before joining the Fort Worth
  field office; and
         WHEREAS, Retirement will afford Mr. Knowles more time to
  spend with his beloved family, including his wife, Von, and their 4
  children and 10 grandchildren, and to indulge in his favorite
  leisure activity, fishing; and
         WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan's commitment to the highest
  standards of his profession has greatly benefited his fellow
  citizens and earned him the respect and admiration of his
  colleagues, and he may reflect with pride on a career well spent as
  he embarks on the next exciting chapter of his life; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Michael Knowles on the occasion of
  his retirement from the office of the Texas Comptroller of Public
  Accounts and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued
  happiness and fulfillment; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Knowles as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
