R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Michael Knowles of Fort Worth is retiring from the |
|
Audit Division of the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts on April |
|
28, 2017, drawing to a close a decade and a half of exemplary |
|
service; and |
|
WHEREAS, An alumnus of Bentley College, where he earned a |
|
bachelor's degree with honors in accounting, Mr. Knowles began his |
|
career with the state comptroller's office as an auditor in the |
|
Odessa field office; he subsequently worked for two years at the |
|
revenue processing center in Euless before joining the Fort Worth |
|
field office; and |
|
WHEREAS, Retirement will afford Mr. Knowles more time to |
|
spend with his beloved family, including his wife, Von, and their 4 |
|
children and 10 grandchildren, and to indulge in his favorite |
|
leisure activity, fishing; and |
|
WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan's commitment to the highest |
|
standards of his profession has greatly benefited his fellow |
|
citizens and earned him the respect and admiration of his |
|
colleagues, and he may reflect with pride on a career well spent as |
|
he embarks on the next exciting chapter of his life; now, therefore, |
|
be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Michael Knowles on the occasion of |
|
his retirement from the office of the Texas Comptroller of Public |
|
Accounts and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued |
|
happiness and fulfillment; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Knowles as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
