R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Vanessa
  Dale Clayton of DeSoto, who passed away on February 17, 2017, at the
  age of 62; and
         WHEREAS, The daughter of Robert Wilkes and Jane Melinda
  Oliver, Vanessa Clayton was born in Wilmington, Delaware, on June
  26, 1954, and grew up with eight sisters and six brothers; she
  graduated from Pottstown Senior High School in Pottstown,
  Pennsylvania, in 1972 and three years later married her high school
  sweetheart, Larry Clayton; over the course of more than four
  decades together, the couple were blessed with a fine family that
  grew to include four children, Dania Carter and her husband,
  Jerome, Taj Clayton and his wife, Tonika, Bryheem Clayton and his
  wife, Sree, and Larry Clayton Jr. and his wife, Salma, as well as 11
  grandchildren and 6 extended grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Clayton enjoyed a fulfilling career as a
  caretaker; she worked as a nurse's aide at Pottstown Memorial
  Medical Center and then operated a local home nursery before moving
  with her family in 1993 to Millville, New Jersey, where she
  supervised care for adults with disabilities at Easterseals; and
         WHEREAS, After relocating to DeSoto in 1995, Mrs. Clayton
  soon became a valued member of the community; a woman of strong
  faith, she was an active congregant of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship in
  Dallas, where she generously volunteered her time with the nursery
  ministry; and
         WHEREAS, Vanessa Clayton led a rich and purposeful life
  centered on her faith, her family, and her community, and those who
  were privileged to know her will forever treasure their memories of
  her thoughtfulness, warmth, and wonderful sense of humor; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Vanessa Dale Clayton
  and extend heartfelt sympathy to her family and many friends; and,
  be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Vanessa
  Clayton.
