R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Junior Achievement of Brazoria County has been
  recognized for its outstanding work during the 2015-2016 fiscal
  year with the Peak Performance Team Award and the Five Star Award
  from Junior Achievement USA; and
         WHEREAS, The Peak Performance Team and Five Star Awards
  celebrate the staff and boards of local Junior Achievement groups
  that have improved student outcomes while sustaining their own
  financial strength; to earn the Five Star Award, the organization
  must also meet Junior Achievement's national standards of
  operational efficiency and effectively represent its brand; and
         WHEREAS, A fitting recipient of these prestigious accolades,
  Junior Achievement of Brazoria County is dedicated to equipping
  students in pre-K through 12th grade with the knowledge and skills
  necessary to become productive and successful members of society;
  to that end, it offers training in a variety of areas, including
  basic money management, global economics, career investigation,
  job skills, leadership, and ethics; and
         WHEREAS, Partnering with more than 300 classroom volunteers
  and corporate sponsors during the 2015-2016 academic year, the
  organization reached 8,022 students in eight school districts and
  private schools across the county, increasing the number of
  students served by nearly 22 percent; in addition, it achieved
  42,480 local contact hours, an increase of more than 19 percent; and
         WHEREAS, By empowering local youth to plan their future, take
  charge of their success, and make smart academic and financial
  choices, Junior Achievement of Brazoria County is helping those
  students prepare for the challenges and opportunities of adulthood,
  and in so doing, it is also helping to advance the prosperity and
  vitality of their communities; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Junior Achievement of Brazoria
  County on its receipt of the Peak Performance Team and Five Star
  Awards and extend to all those associated with the organization
  sincere best wishes for continued success in their important work;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Junior Achievement of Brazoria County as an expression
  of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
