R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times and |
|
meaningful accomplishments remain to comfort the family and friends |
|
of Carol Ann Watson Hinds of Waxahachie, who passed away on February |
|
15, 2017, at the age of 83; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born on November 1, 1933, in Italy, Texas, the |
|
former Carol Ann Watson was the daughter of Elvis and Myrtle Watson; |
|
after graduating from Italy High School in 1950, she earned her |
|
bachelor's degree in psychology from The University of Texas at |
|
Dallas in 1985 and went on to complete the course requirements for a |
|
master's degree in psychology; and |
|
WHEREAS, She exchanged wedding vows with Don Hinds on |
|
December 26, 1953, and the couple shared a rewarding marriage |
|
before his passing; Mrs. Hinds worked for Hunt Oil in the late |
|
1950s, and in 1960, she left paid employment to fully devote herself |
|
to her home and family, which grew to include three sons, Clay, |
|
Vance, and Jarrett; through the years, she was further blessed with |
|
seven grandchildren, Katelyn, Jacob, Taylor, Chesley, Emma, Don, |
|
and Madeleine, as well as two great-grandchildren, Jett and Jaci; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, This vibrant, gracious woman was an avid bridge |
|
player who achieved life master status with the American Contract |
|
Bridge League, and she also had a passion for reading and horse |
|
racing; she was a member of Central Presbyterian Church in |
|
Waxahachie, and she always cherished the time she spent with her |
|
beloved friends and family; and |
|
WHEREAS, Treasured for her kindness and generosity, Carol Ann |
|
Hinds made an indelible impression on all who shared in the warmth |
|
of her affection, and they will forever hold her close to their |
|
hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Carol Ann Watson Hinds |
|
and extend sincere sympathy to all who mourn her passing; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Carol Ann |
|
Hinds. |
