R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Marty
  Sue Marshall of Rockport, who passed away on February 12, 2017, at
  the age of 64; and
         WHEREAS, The daughter of Charlie Marshall and Violet Marshall
  Duncan, Marty Sue Marshall was born on October 25, 1952, in
  Beeville; she attended Aransas Pass High School, where she was a
  cheerleader and voted Most Popular, and she remained in the Coastal
  Bend area throughout her adult life; working alongside her father
  at the family business, Charlie Marshall Funeral Homes and
  Crematory, she continued to run the business after his death; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Marshall was devoted to giving back to her
  beloved community, and in 2009, she founded the Rockport Rockettes,
  a women's organization centered on fellowship and charity; over the
  years, she also lent her time and talents to numerous civic groups,
  including the Woman's Club of Aransas Pass, the Rockport Center for
  the Arts, the Aransas Pass Chamber of Commerce, the Rockport-Fulton
  Humane Society Adoption Center, and Aransas County 4-H; and
         WHEREAS, Of all her endeavors in life, Ms. Marshall was most
  proud of her family, which included her daughters, Bridget Sue
  Ramey St. John and Jordan Taylor Marshall, her son-in-law, Bruce
  St. John, her stepchildren, Dennis Ramey and his wife, Maria, and
  Ralee Dawn Ramey, and her brother, Bill Marshall; and
         WHEREAS, Marty Sue Marshall will long be remembered for her
  honesty, loyalty, and infectious energy, and her memory will
  continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all those who had the
  pleasure of knowing her; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Marty Sue Marshall and
  extend deepest condolences to her many relatives and friends; and,
  be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Marty Sue
  Marshall.
