R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Reagan Hoelscher, a freshman at Tuloso-Midway High
  School in Corpus Christi, was crowned Queen of the Nueces County
  Junior Livestock Show on January 14, 2017; and
         WHEREAS, Representing the Run-In JM 4-H Club, Ms. Hoelscher
  beat out 18 other contestants for the title with her exceptional
  performances in the interview, talent, and evening gown categories;
  she also participated in the NCJLS Horse Show, where she took first
  place in senior pole bending, cloverleaf barrels, and goat tying
  and finished third in figure-eight barrels and the stake race to
  earn standing as the Senior Speed Reserve Champion; moreover, she
  showed breeder, fryer, and market rabbits and entered contests in
  the home economics competition; she has previously held the titles
  of Miss Texas Junior High Rodeo and Miss Rodeo Jasper Duchess; and
         WHEREAS, This highly motivated young Texan has served as
  second vice president of the Run-In JM 4-H Club, as a member of the
  Nueces County 4-H Ambassadors, and as a reporter for the Nueces
  County 4-H Council and the Chaparral 4-H Club; she is currently
  working on her vet-tech certification through the Nueces County
  Extension Agency; and
         WHEREAS, The daughter of Stephen and Gwynetta Hoelscher,
  Ms. Hoelscher has further distinguished herself as one of the top
  students in her class at Tuloso-Midway High School; she is the
  freshman class treasurer and a member of the student council, and
  she takes part in the Spanish club, the University Interscholastic
  League literary criticism competition, and the Business
  Professionals of America program, where she has advanced to
  state-level competition; active in her community, she is a valued
  parishioner of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Violet, and she
  volunteers with Corpus Christi Animal Control and Backpacks for
  Teen Foster Kids and collects pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald
  House; and
         WHEREAS, The talent and determination that Reagan Hoelscher
  has demonstrated in all her endeavors are sure to serve her well in
  the years ahead, and she may indeed look forward to a future bright
  with promise; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Reagan Hoelscher on being named the
  2017 Nueces County Junior Livestock Show Queen and extend to her
  sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Hoelscher as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
