R E S O L U T I O N

|
WHEREAS, July 10, 2017, marks the 50th wedding anniversary of |
|
|
Edward and Joyce Woods of San Antonio, and this happy event provides |
|
|
a fitting opportunity to reflect on their rewarding journey |
|
|
together as husband and wife; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Edward L. Woods Sr. and the former Joyce M. Williams |
|
|
were joined in matrimony in 1967 in Baltimore, Maryland; over the |
|
|
years, they have been blessed with a treasured family that includes |
|
|
their children, Edward L. Woods Jr. and Mya Janiece Elaine Woods; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The couple are valued residents of San Antonio, |
|
|
where Mrs. Woods was born and raised; she is a certified |
|
|
cosmetologist, and Mr. Woods, who hails from Chicago and Vicksburg, |
|
|
Mississippi, proudly served in the United States Army for 20 years; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The five decades of marriage that Mr. and Mrs. Woods |
|
|
have shared is eloquent affirmation of the meaning of love and |
|
|
commitment, and their enduring union is an inspiration to all who |
|
|
know them; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Edward and Joyce Woods on their |
|
|
50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Woods as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
