R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, A full and purposeful life drew to a close with the |
|
passing of Hazel Bennett Spearman of Pittsburg, Texas, on March 11, |
|
2017, at the age of 93; and |
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of Warren and Myrtle Bennett, the |
|
former Hazel Bennett was born in Wood County on September 29, 1923; |
|
she enjoyed a career as a teacher before going into business with |
|
her husband, George Spearman; together, the couple owned B & S True |
|
Value Hardware & Lumber, and over the years, they became the proud |
|
parents of two sons, Steve Spearman and his wife, Beverly, and Tim |
|
Spearman and his wife, Pam; their family later grew to include four |
|
grandchildren, Chad, Chet, and Jenny Spearman, and Lindsey Van |
|
Curen, as well as seven great-grandchildren; and |
|
WHEREAS, An active member of her community, Mrs. Spearman was |
|
a longtime congregant of the First United Methodist Church of |
|
Pittsburg, and she also belonged to the Bridge Club; and |
|
WHEREAS, Although Hazel Spearman is greatly missed, this |
|
beloved woman has left her family and friends with many cherished |
|
memories, and she will forever hold a special place in their hearts; |
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Hazel Bennett |
|
Spearman and extend sincere condolences to all who mourn her loss; |
|
and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Hazel |
|
Spearman. |
