R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, The members of Cub Scout Pack 414 of Kirbyville have
  served their community through a variety of volunteer projects, and
  they are indeed deserving of special recognition; and
         WHEREAS, The Cub Scout program is designed to help boys in the
  first through fifth grades build character, learn practical skills,
  and perform volunteer service; as part of the Boy Scouts of America,
  the Cub Scout program is premised on the belief that helping youth
  to cultivate such core values as trustworthiness, helpfulness, and
  kindness is key to building a more conscientious, responsible, and
  productive society; and
         WHEREAS, Ably guided by Cubmaster Pamela Stanley, Pack 414
  planted trees at Sandy Creek Park in November 2016 to help replace
  those destroyed during severe storms earlier in the year; the
  members of the pack also sang carols to local nursing home residents
  during the holiday season; and
         WHEREAS, By volunteering their time and talents, the members
  of Cub Scout Pack 414 are enriching the lives of others and
  developing into thoughtful citizens who understand the importance
  of civic engagement; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend the members of Cub Scout Pack 414 of
  Kirbyville for their service to their community and extend to all
  those involved with the group sincere best wishes for the future;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the pack as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
