R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, The members of Cub Scout Pack 414 of Kirbyville have |
|
|
served their community through a variety of volunteer projects, and |
|
|
they are indeed deserving of special recognition; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Cub Scout program is designed to help boys in the |
|
|
first through fifth grades build character, learn practical skills, |
|
|
and perform volunteer service; as part of the Boy Scouts of America, |
|
|
the Cub Scout program is premised on the belief that helping youth |
|
|
to cultivate such core values as trustworthiness, helpfulness, and |
|
|
kindness is key to building a more conscientious, responsible, and |
|
|
productive society; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ably guided by Cubmaster Pamela Stanley, Pack 414 |
|
|
planted trees at Sandy Creek Park in November 2016 to help replace |
|
|
those destroyed during severe storms earlier in the year; the |
|
|
members of the pack also sang carols to local nursing home residents |
|
|
during the holiday season; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, By volunteering their time and talents, the members |
|
|
of Cub Scout Pack 414 are enriching the lives of others and |
|
|
developing into thoughtful citizens who understand the importance |
|
|
of civic engagement; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend the members of Cub Scout Pack 414 of |
|
|
Kirbyville for their service to their community and extend to all |
|
|
those involved with the group sincere best wishes for the future; |
|
|
and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the pack as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
