R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, The Fearless Robotics Club of Berkner High School in
  Richardson placed first in the engineering division at the VEX
  Robotics High School World Championship, held in Louisville,
  Kentucky, April 20-23, 2016; and
         WHEREAS, Presented by the Robotics Education & Competition
  Foundation, VEX is one of the largest and fastest-growing middle
  and high school robotics programs in the world; each year, more than
  16,000 teams from 40 countries take part in the program's numerous
  events, which feature an engineering challenge in the form of a
  game; and
         WHEREAS, The Fearless Robotics Club is part of Berkner's STEM
  Academy, an engineering-based initiative that teaches robotics,
  aviation and aeronautical science, and biotechnology; club
  participants design, construct, and program robots, taking their
  finished products to various state, national, and world events; and
         WHEREAS, The team's 2016 victory is the latest in a series of
  impressive accomplishments for the Berkner STEM Academy robotics
  program; in 2015, Fearless Robotics achieved first place in the
  programming skills category at the Technology Student Association
  VEX Robotics National Competition and in the driver skills category
  at the North Texas VEX Robotics Competition; it was also the
  technology division winner and part of the fourth-place overall
  alliance at the 2014 VEX High School World Championship; and
         WHEREAS, The members of the Fearless Robotics Club are a
  source of great pride to their families and their community, and
  their stellar performance at the VEX Robotics High School World
  Championship is indeed deserving of special recognition; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the Berkner High School Fearless
  Robotics Club on winning the 2016 VEX Robotics High School World
  Championship in the engineering division and extend to its members
  sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
