R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A full and purposeful life drew to a close with the
  passing of C. Maye Neal Strange of Georgetown on January 25, 2017,
  at the age of 96; and
         WHEREAS, The daughter of William and Lorena Dunlap, the
  former Clara Maye Dunlap was born on July 23, 1920; she grew up on
  her family's ranch near Ozona and graduated from Ozona High School
  before attending Texas State College for Women and Baylor
  University; following her studies, she returned to Ozona, where she
  worked as a reporter for the Ozona Stockman and the Midland
  Reporter-Telegram; in 1940, she wed Robert Neal, and they later
  built their home and ranching business on the Neal Ranch in
  Junction, spending 41 cherished years together until his death in
  1981; she remarried in 1988 and went on to enjoy eight years of
  marriage to Gwan Strange; and
         WHEREAS, In addition to ranching, Mrs. Strange also operated
  her own women's clothing business, C. Maye's Shoppe, for more than
  three decades; she further shared her time and talents with the
  community as chair of the First State Bank of Junction board of
  directors and as a member of the Daedalian Study Club and the
  administrative board of the local First United Methodist Church;
  and
         WHEREAS, Although she will be deeply missed, memories of this
  beloved woman will be forever treasured by those who were fortunate
  enough to share in the richness of her life; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of C. Maye Neal Strange
  and extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of her family: to her
  two sons, Robert M. Neal Jr. and his wife, Nancy, and Jon Neal and
  his wife, Linda; to her stepson, Joe Strange and his wife, Pam; to
  her grandsons, Robert M. Neal III and his wife, Susan, William Neal
  and his wife, Lauren, Deric Neal and his wife, Melanie, Jordan Neal
  and his wife, Amanda, and Jeffrey Strange; to her six
  great-grandchildren; and to her other relatives and friends; and,
  be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of C. Maye
  Neal Strange.
