R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Texans everywhere are indebted to the men and women |
|
|
of the law enforcement profession, for by their selfless devotion |
|
|
to the public welfare, they enable us to enjoy the benefits of a |
|
|
peaceful and orderly society; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Too seldom recognized, and sometimes taken for |
|
|
granted by the public they so faithfully serve, these gallant |
|
|
individuals daily risk their lives in order to ensure domestic |
|
|
tranquility and to protect the lives and property of others; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Patrolman Adrian Arellano of the El Paso Police |
|
|
Department exemplified in his personal and professional conduct the |
|
|
singular virtues of courage, integrity, and steadfast resolve, and |
|
|
throughout his 10 years, 7 months on the force, his meritorious |
|
|
service embodied the highest ideals of his vocation; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Killed in the line of duty on March 18, 2015, |
|
|
Patrolman Arellano will long be missed by his family, his fellow |
|
|
peace officers, and the entire community; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Though his life ended far too soon, Patrolman |
|
|
Arellano left behind a record of public service that is deserving of |
|
|
his fellow citizens' lasting respect and gratitude; now, therefore, |
|
|
be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Patrolman Adrian |
|
|
Arellano and extend deepest sympathy to his relatives, friends, and |
|
|
fellow officers; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Patrolman |
|
|
Adrian Arellano. |
