R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Texans everywhere are indebted to the men and women |
|
|
of the law enforcement profession, for by their selfless devotion |
|
|
to the public welfare, they enable us to enjoy the benefits of a |
|
|
peaceful and orderly society; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Too seldom recognized, and sometimes taken for |
|
|
granted by the public they so faithfully serve, these gallant |
|
|
individuals daily risk their lives in order to ensure domestic |
|
|
tranquility and to protect the lives and property of others; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Deputy Constable Jeffrey Emmons Radford of the Bell |
|
|
County Constable's Office exemplified in his personal and |
|
|
professional conduct the singular virtues of courage, integrity, |
|
|
and steadfast resolve, and throughout his five years, one month on |
|
|
the force, his meritorious service embodied the highest ideals of |
|
|
his vocation; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Killed in the line of duty on October 28, 2015, |
|
|
Deputy Radford will long be missed by his family, his fellow peace |
|
|
officers, and the entire community; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Though his life ended far too soon, Deputy Radford |
|
|
left behind a record of public service that is deserving of his |
|
|
fellow citizens' lasting respect and gratitude; now, therefore, be |
|
|
it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Deputy Constable |
|
|
Jeffrey Emmons Radford and extend deepest sympathy to his |
|
|
relatives, friends, and fellow officers; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Deputy |
|
|
Constable Jeffrey Emmons Radford. |
