R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The family of the late Bob Belt have been chosen to
serve as parade marshals for the 2017 Tyler County Dogwood
Festival, in recognition of Mr. Belt's extensive service in behalf

college, served in the military, and began his career in the
financial industry, he returned in 1964 and soon began working with
the festival in earnest; he played a key role in expanding the
festival to include Western Weekend and in 1967 served as the first
director of that event; he also joined his family as a participant
in the 1966 presentation of the festival's historical play; in
addition, Mr. Belt gave generously of his time and talents to the
Boy Scouts of America, the Rotary Club, and the Tyler County Chamber
  of Commerce; and

years; he remained active in the festival until his death in 1996,
and his family members have continued to be involved in this
  much-beloved East Texas tradition; and
