R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, At the age of 23, Edna-Mae Mata has become one of the |
|
youngest female officers in the Brownsville Police Department; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Mata began working for the police department |
|
when she was still a student at Pace Early College High School; |
|
during her senior year, her interest in law enforcement led her to |
|
participate in an extensive internship in the communications |
|
division; and |
|
WHEREAS, After graduating, Ms. Mata became a dispatcher with |
|
the department; that position sparked an even greater interest in |
|
police work, and after turning 21, she entered the police academy |
|
while continuing to work part-time as a dispatcher; and |
|
WHEREAS, Each day, Brownsville residents rely on the skill, |
|
professionalism, and dedication of law enforcement officers, and |
|
through her commitment to protecting and serving the community, |
|
Officer Mata has earned the admiration and appreciation of her |
|
fellow citizens; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Edna-Mae Mata on joining the |
|
Brownsville Police Department and extend to her sincere best wishes |
|
for a successful and rewarding career in law enforcement; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Officer Mata as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
