R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The annual Breast Fest Charity Cook-Off at Buffalo |
|
|
Springs Lake in Lubbock offers attendees the opportunity to sample |
|
|
delicious barbecue while benefiting a worthy cause; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Hosted by Ribbons of Love, the Breast Fest Charity |
|
|
Cook-Off is an International Barbeque Cookers Association |
|
|
sanctioned event, and it is a true community effort, with |
|
|
assistance being provided by Lubbock County, the BBQ SuperStars |
|
|
Sports Network, and corporate sponsors from the surrounding area; |
|
|
proceeds support breast cancer research and patients as well as a |
|
|
scholarship fund for a high school senior whose life has been |
|
|
impacted by the disease; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This culinary contest allows barbecue chefs from |
|
|
around the region to put their skills to the test as they vie for |
|
|
cash prizes and bragging rights in a range of categories; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Breast Fest Charity Cook-Off is a |
|
|
much-anticipated get-together that promotes fun, fellowship, and |
|
|
healthy competition while contributing to the fight against breast |
|
|
cancer, and this exceptional fund-raiser is indeed deserving of |
|
|
special recognition; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commemorate the Breast Fest Charity Cook-Off and |
|
|
extend to the competition's organizers, participants, and guests |
|
|
sincere best wishes for a memorable event. |
