R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the
  passing of Ada Fenlaw on August 22, 2016, at the age of 89; and
         WHEREAS, The daughter of Anna Mae and Joseph Jett, "Kitty"
  Jett was born on February 5, 1927, in Dallas County; she was a
  member of the Woodrow Wilson High School Class of 1943 and went on
  to graduate from The University of Texas at Austin in 1948; and
         WHEREAS, On October 29, 1945, she exchanged the vows of
  matrimony with Roger Fenlaw at a ceremony held in Dallas; in the
  course of a rewarding marriage that spanned more than seven
  decades, Mr. and Mrs. Fenlaw became the proud parents of four
  children, Mark, Pamela, Rick, and Jim Ed, and they were further
  blessed with six grandchildren, Jay, Reid, Sarah, Frank, Molly, and
  Meredith, and four great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Fenlaw gave freely of her time and energy to
  the Alpha Chi Omega Alumni Group, and she had the distinction of
  being the first woman ever admitted to the Downtown Lions Club; she
  also served as secretary of the State Board of Physical Therapy
  Examiners, and her many contributions to her church included
  teaching Sunday school and participating in Girls in Action; in her
  spare time, she enjoyed putting her sewing skills to use as a member
  of a quilting club; and
         WHEREAS, Deeply dedicated to her family, her faith, and her
  community, Kitty Fenlaw earned the respect and admiration of all
  who were privileged to know her, and they will forever hold her
  close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Ada "Kitty" Fenlaw and
  extend sincere condolences to her loved ones; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Kitty
  Fenlaw.
