R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Chris Howell was presented with a Quest for Success
  Award at the annual Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce awards
  luncheon on February 10, 2017; and
         WHEREAS, Since 1985, the Quest for Success Awards have
  honored African American entrepreneurs in the Dallas-Fort Worth
  area for their community service and their significant
  contributions to local business; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Howell is the CEO of Chris Howell
  Communications, a successful marketing and communications agency
  in Dallas that offers such services as video production,
  copywriting, and media marketing; a former reporter and midday
  anchor for KCBI radio, Mr. Howell has extensive experience as an
  interview host, keynote speaker, and master of ceremonies for area
  events, and he is also the author of a bestselling book, Man Talk;
  and
         WHEREAS, Despite his busy professional life, Mr. Howell
  finds time to run a nonprofit, the Chris Howell Foundation, which
  provides HIV/AIDS education and testing to at-risk populations; in
  recognition of his outstanding efforts, he received the Each Moment
  Matters Award from the Presbyterian Communities and Services
  Foundation of Dallas in 2014, and he has been featured in leading
  Christian publications such as Gospel Today and New Man magazine;
  and
         WHEREAS, Through his far-reaching professional and civic
  endeavors, this notable Texan has touched many lives and made a
  positive impact on the economic vitality of the Dallas-Fort Worth
  Metroplex, and he is indeed deserving of this prestigious honor;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Chris Howell on his receipt of a
  2017 Quest for Success Award from the Dallas Black Chamber of
  Commerce and that he be extended sincere best wishes for the future.
