R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The officers, staff, and stockholders of Lubbock
  National Bank are celebrating the 100th anniversary of its founding
  in 2017; and
         WHEREAS, In 1917, only eight years after the incorporation of
  the City of Lubbock, the bank was established by Charles E. Maedgen;
  originally known as Security State Bank and Trust Co., it stood on
  the corner of what is now Main Street and Texas Avenue; and
         WHEREAS, The bank purchased Farmers' National Bank in 1920,
  and five years later, it adopted the name Lubbock National Bank; and
         WHEREAS, Today, this venerable financial institution is led
  by board chair Roger Key, who is the grandson of the founder, along
  with president and CEO Eddie Schulz; Mr. Key is joined in the bank's
  management by his three brothers who remain active in the bank as
  members of the board, including past president Terry Key, attorney
  Howard Key, and executive vice president Charles Key; the bank
  boasts assets of $1 billion, and it has opened branches in Bryan,
  College Station, and Austin; and
         WHEREAS, For the past century, Lubbock National Bank has
  played a vital role in the prosperity of the Lubbock community and
  beyond, and it is truly deserving of special recognition on this
  important milestone in its history; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby commemorate the 100th anniversary of Lubbock
  National Bank and extend to all those associated with the
  institution sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Lubbock National Bank as an expression of high regard
  by the Texas House of Representatives.
