R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Mia Paz of the Hanna Early College High School |
|
girls' basketball team has been named the 2017 All-Metro Offensive |
|
Player of the Year by the Brownsville Herald; and |
|
WHEREAS, Currently a sophomore, Mia Paz led the Golden Eagles |
|
during the 2016-2017 season by averaging 20.1 points per game, |
|
along with 5.7 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 3 steals; her impressive |
|
achievements also earned her this season's District 32-6A Offensive |
|
Player of the Year honor, and as a freshman, she was selected as the |
|
Brownsville Herald's All-Metro Newcomer of the Year; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Paz is renowned for her strong work ethic, and |
|
she made a special effort to improve her game by training in Dallas |
|
and San Antonio during the summer between her freshman and |
|
sophomore seasons; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through her talent, hard work, and commitment to |
|
excellence, Mia Paz has distinguished herself as an exceptional |
|
player who is poised for further glory in the years ahead, and she |
|
is indeed deserving of this prestigious honor; now, therefore, be |
|
it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Mia Paz on being named the 2017 |
|
All-Metro Offensive Player of the Year by the Brownsville Herald |
|
and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be |
|
it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Paz as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
