R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Pragati Bannerjee has been named the 2017 Secondary |
|
|
Teacher of the Year in the Corpus Christi Independent School |
|
|
District; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A solid education is vital for young people to |
|
|
become successful and productive adults, and those men and women |
|
|
who dedicate their careers to teaching make a positive difference |
|
|
in the lives of their students and in the greater community; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A mathematics teacher at Roy Miller High School, |
|
|
Ms. Bannerjee has worked in education at the middle school, |
|
|
secondary, and college undergraduate levels for nearly two decades |
|
|
and is admired by her peers in the profession for her deep |
|
|
understanding of the course subject matter, her high expectations |
|
|
for her classes, and her willingness to go above and beyond for her |
|
|
students; this highly accomplished professional holds two |
|
|
bachelor's degrees and two master's degrees from universities in |
|
|
India, and she recently completed a master's degree in mathematics |
|
|
from Texas A&M University--Corpus Christi; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Pragati Bannerjee exemplifies the passion, |
|
|
determination, and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our |
|
|
best teachers, and she has set an example of excellence to which all |
|
|
in her profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Pragati Bannerjee on her selection |
|
|
as the 2017 Secondary Teacher of the Year in the Corpus Christi |
|
|
Independent School District and extend to her sincere best wishes |
|
|
for continued success with her important work; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Bannerjee as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
