R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Countless lives were touched by the compassion and
  kindness of Marc David Isenberg of Houston, who passed away on March
  18, 2017, at the age of 68; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Houston on January 10, 1949, Marc Isenberg
  was the eldest son of Nathan and Esther Isenberg; an Eagle Scout, he
  grew up in Galena Park and Galveston and later moved to Austin,
  where he earned his degree in psychology from The University of
  Texas; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Isenberg graduated from the University of
  Houston College of Law in May 1974 and went on to practice for years
  as a litigator and insurance defense attorney, but he found his true
  passion representing juveniles in the justice system; he believed
  strongly that minors were entitled to the best defense he could
  provide, and outside the courtroom, he volunteered his time as a
  speaker at schools to help young people understand their legal
  rights and the legal consequences of their conduct; and
         WHEREAS, Also known for his passion for adventure,
  Mr. Isenberg enjoyed traveling, scuba diving, fishing, cooking,
  and learning to play the guitar, and some of his most exhilarating
  experiences included hiking the Grand Canyon and skydiving; guided
  by a strong sense of justice, he took a principled stand against
  bullying and intolerance, and he modeled his oft-repeated maxim
  that it costs nothing to be kind to people; and
         WHEREAS, Beside him in all his endeavors was his wife and law
  partner, Miriam Riskind; he also earned the affection of many loyal
  friends, whom he referred to as his "band of brothers," and the
  support and encouragement that he received from his loved ones was a
  blessing to him during his battle with pancreatic cancer, which he
  faced with characteristic courage, determination, and dignity; and
         WHEREAS, Throughout his rewarding and accomplished life,
  Marc David Isenberg inspired others with his desire to make a
  difference, and his memory will be forever cherished by his devoted
  family and friends; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Marc David Isenberg
  and extend sincere condolences to all those who mourn his passing;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Marc David
  Isenberg.
