R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Hilma Hunt of Seale Junior High School has been
  named the 2016-2017 Secondary Teacher of the Year in the Robstown
  Independent School District; and
         WHEREAS, A solid education is vital for young people to
  become successful and productive adults, and those men and women
  who dedicate their careers to teaching make a positive difference
  in the lives of their students and in the greater community; and
         WHEREAS, Since beginning her career in 1976 as a reading
  teacher at Robstown High School, Hilma Hunt has devoted 41 years to
  the students of Robstown ISD; although she retired temporarily in
  May 2006, she remained with the district as a tutor at Ortiz
  Intermediate School and later returned to teaching; the recipient
  of the Seale Junior High Teacher of the Year Award in 2016, she
  currently teaches seventh and eighth grade Spanish, and she finds
  immense fulfillment in watching her students grow as learners and
  develop the motivation they need to pursue their dreams; and
         WHEREAS, Hilma Hunt exemplifies the passion, determination,
  and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our best teachers,
  and she has set a standard of excellence to which all in her
  profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Hilma Hunt on her selection as the
  2016-2017 Secondary Teacher of the Year in the Robstown Independent
  School District and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued
  success with her important work; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Hunt as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
