R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, Charles Anders, a science teacher at Robstown Early |
|
|
College High School, was named a finalist for the 2016-2017 |
|
|
Secondary Teacher of the Year award in the Robstown Independent |
|
|
School District; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A solid education is vital for young people to |
|
|
become successful and productive adults, and those men and women |
|
|
who dedicate their careers to teaching make a positive difference |
|
|
in the lives of their students and in the greater community; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A veteran educator of more than half a century, |
|
|
including eight years with Robstown ISD, Mr. Anders teaches classes |
|
|
in chemistry, biology, anatomy/physiology, and integrated physics |
|
|
and chemistry; he played a key role in greatly increasing the |
|
|
percentage of RISD students who passed the TAKS science exam, and |
|
|
his students have selected him as an Educator Hero on three |
|
|
occasions; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Charles Anders exemplifies the passion, |
|
|
determination, and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our |
|
|
best teachers, and he has set a standard of excellence to which all |
|
|
in his profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Charles Anders on his selection as |
|
|
a finalist for the 2016-2017 Robstown ISD Secondary Teacher of the |
|
|
Year award and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success with his important work; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Anders as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
