R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, June 18, 2017, marks the 40th wedding anniversary of |
|
Jeffrey and Marianne Johanns of Austin, and this joyous event |
|
provides a fitting opportunity to reflect on their rewarding |
|
journey together as husband and wife; and |
|
WHEREAS, After several years of courtship that began while |
|
they were still in high school, Mr. and Mrs. Johanns exchanged the |
|
vows of matrimony at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Farmer City, |
|
Illinois, in 1977; over the course of their marriage, they have been |
|
blessed with a treasured family that includes their children, |
|
Katherine and Alex; and |
|
WHEREAS, Valued residents of Austin for nearly two decades, |
|
Mr. Johanns retired from PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in 2011 and |
|
currently serves as a lecturer for The University of Texas at Austin |
|
McCombs School of Business, and Mrs. Johanns has devoted herself to |
|
her home and family throughout their marriage, in addition to |
|
volunteering at her children's schools; this admirable couple also |
|
established a scholarship at the University of Illinois, |
|
Mr. Johanns's alma mater, and they have supported such worthy |
|
causes as the Rescue Mission of El Paso and Alley Cat Allies; and |
|
WHEREAS, The 40 years of marriage that Mr. and Mrs. Johanns |
|
have shared is eloquent affirmation of the meaning of love and |
|
commitment, and their enduring union is an inspiration to all who |
|
know them; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Jeffrey and Marianne Johanns on |
|
their 40th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best |
|
wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the couple as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
