R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Butch |
|
Petty of Mount Pleasant, who passed away on March 28, 2017, at the |
|
age of 58; and |
|
WHEREAS, The son of William and Anita Petty, Butch Petty was |
|
born on August 30, 1958, in Pittsburg, Texas, and he grew up with |
|
the companionship of a sister, Tina; he graduated from Mount |
|
Pleasant High School in 1976 and went on to enjoy a rewarding career |
|
as a technician at the Mount Pleasant Regional Airport; and |
|
WHEREAS, Active in his community, Mr. Petty served as a |
|
volunteer firefighter in Mount Pleasant for more than 20 years |
|
before taking a position as chief of the 5-Star Volunteer Fire |
|
Department; he was also a longtime member of the Church of the |
|
Nazarene in Mount Pleasant; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Petty shared four decades of marriage with his |
|
beloved wife, Della, and over the years, their family grew to |
|
include two sons, Ashley Petty and his wife, Selena Pack, and Joey |
|
Petty and his wife, Summer, as well as two granddaughters, Kayleigh |
|
and Tayler; and |
|
WHEREAS, Butch Petty led a caring and purposeful life |
|
centered on his family, his faith, and his community, and those who |
|
were fortunate enough to know him will forever hold him close in |
|
their hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Butch Petty and |
|
extend sincere condolences to his relatives and many friends; and, |
|
be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Butch |
|
Petty. |
