R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Wrestler Hadesther Quezada of Roy Miller High School
  in Corpus Christi enjoyed a successful 2016-2017 season, advancing
  all the way to the Class 5A state contest in the 102-pound weight
  division at the University Interscholastic League State
  Tournament, held February 24-25, 2017, at the Berry Center in
  Cypress; and
         WHEREAS, A first-year wrestler, junior Hadesther Quezada
  distinguished herself throughout the season, displaying great
  strength and natural talent; in the District 15 championship match,
  she triumphed over Daniela Perez of Beeville High School in an 11-0
  decision, claiming the crown and becoming the first wrestler from
  Miller High to earn a district title in the sport; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Quezada went on to secure another first-place
  victory at the regional level before advancing to the state
  contest, where she put up a determined effort but ultimately fell
  short, capping off a memorable season with an overall record of 37
  wins and only 10 losses; and
         WHEREAS, By excelling on the mat, Hadesther Quezada has
  garnered the admiration of her fellow students and her many
  supporters in the local community, and she may indeed reflect with
  pride on her notable achievements; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Hadesther Quezada on a successful
  2016-2017 wrestling season and extend to her sincere best wishes
  for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Quezada as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
