R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Dr. Michael Casillas has been named King Antonio XCV
  for Fiesta San Antonio 2017; and
         WHEREAS, With a history spanning more than 125 years, Fiesta
  San Antonio is a 10-day-long celebration of the city's rich and
  diverse heritage and one of the premier festivals in the country
  today; among the event's many enduring and beloved traditions is
  the ceremonial crowning of King Antonio, which dates back to the
  election of the first King Antonio by the Texas Cavaliers in 1927;
  and
         WHEREAS, While presiding over citywide festivities as King
  Antonio, Dr. Michael Casillas will distribute more than $800,000 to
  local children's charities on behalf of the Texas Cavaliers; he
  will also visit over 100 schools and 27 nursing homes and hospitals
  as part of his mission to spread merriment throughout the city; and
         WHEREAS, A native San Antonian and a board-certified oral
  surgeon at San Antonio Surgical Arts, Dr. Casillas is a graduate of
  The University of Texas Health Science Center Dental School; in
  addition to maintaining numerous affiliations with the Texas Dental
  Association, the San Antonio District Dental Society, and other
  organizations, he enjoys giving back to his community through his
  active involvement in the Texas Cavaliers; and
         WHEREAS, Dr. Michael Casillas has distinguished himself as a
  medical professional and an esteemed lifelong resident of the Alamo
  City, and he may take justifiable pride in being bestowed this place
  of honor among the royalty of Fiesta; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Dr. Michael Casillas on his
  selection as King Antonio XCV for Fiesta San Antonio 2017 and extend
  to him sincere best wishes for a successful reign; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Dr. Casillas as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
