R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends were deeply saddened by the loss |
|
of Barbara Diane Madden of Richardson, who passed away on March 30, |
|
2017, at the age of 74; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born in Schenectady, New York, on November 15, 1942, |
|
the former Barbara Szumachowski was the daughter of Stephen and |
|
Bernice Szumachowski; she married Jerry Madden on June 20, 1965, in |
|
a ceremony held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in her hometown; the |
|
devoted couple became the proud parents of a son, Jerry, and two |
|
daughters, Stephanie and Kristina; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Madden was a nurse, and during her employment |
|
at Richardson General Hospital and Heritage Manor Nursing Home, she |
|
demonstrated exceptional kindness and compassion to her patients; |
|
during her husband's two-decade tenure in the Texas House of |
|
Representatives, she was a source of steadfast support; she was |
|
also a valued congregant of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church |
|
in Plano; above all, she was devoted to her family, which grew to |
|
include five grandchildren, Samantha, Alisa, Joey, Sarah, and |
|
Logan; and |
|
WHEREAS, Although Barbara Madden will be deeply missed, she |
|
has left her friends and loved ones with a wealth of memories that |
|
they will forever treasure; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Barbara Diane Madden |
|
and extend sincere condolences to her relatives and friends; and, |
|
be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Barbara |
|
Madden. |
