R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The Newton County Jail has earned a Certificate of |
|
Compliance from the Texas Commission on Jail Standards; and |
|
WHEREAS, The jail was accorded this distinction following a |
|
TCJS inspection on March 6, 2017, during which the facility |
|
demonstrated the high standards it upholds in its daily operations; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, The commission gave special credit to Newton County |
|
Sheriff Billy Rowles and his dedicated staff for maintaining a safe |
|
and secure facility, as well as to the county commissioners court |
|
for its role in providing vital budgetary support for jail |
|
operations; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through their exemplary work, Sheriff Billy Rowles |
|
and his staff have helped the Newton County Jail exceed the |
|
expectations set forth by the State of Texas, and it is indeed a |
|
pleasure to join in recognizing this outstanding facility; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate the Newton County Jail on its |
|
receipt of a Certificate of Compliance from the Texas Commission on |
|
Jail Standards and extend to Sheriff Billy Rowles and his staff |
|
sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the jail as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
