R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, For more than five decades, Pat Peale of Lake Kiowa |
|
has worked tirelessly to advance the goals of the Republican Party; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, A longtime grassroots volunteer, Ms. Peale gained |
|
early experience as chair of a University of Miami rally in support |
|
of the Eisenhower-Nixon ticket; she went on to serve several other |
|
Republican presidential, gubernatorial, and congressional |
|
campaigns in volunteer and leadership positions; after making her |
|
home in Texas, she soon proved an indispensable asset to the state |
|
Republican Party, aiding in the campaigns of President George H. W. |
|
Bush and President George W. Bush and helping to elect Republican |
|
candidates for offices ranging from governor to railroad |
|
commissioner; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Peale served as a delegate to the Republican |
|
National Convention in 1996 and went on to hold a number of |
|
leadership roles with the State Republican Executive Committee; in |
|
2000, she was part of the National Selection Committee for the |
|
Republican Party of Texas; and |
|
WHEREAS, Pat Peale's efforts in membership development, |
|
campaign activities, and community relations for the Cooke County |
|
Republican Women resulted in her being named one of the Ten |
|
Outstanding Women by the Texas Federation of Republican Women, an |
|
organization in which she has been active as a district director as |
|
well; she has also served the Cooke County Republican Party as |
|
chair; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through her decades of political activism in behalf |
|
of the Republican Party, Pat Peale has contributed greatly to its |
|
growth and success in Cooke County and beyond, and she may indeed |
|
reflect with pride on her achievements; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby honor Pat Peale for her many years of service to |
|
the Republican Party and extend to her sincere best wishes for the |
|
future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Peale as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
